Event management

Event management starts as soon as people leave their house to travel to an event. Before the event, crowd professionals study their crowd. By the time visitors leave their front door, they have a good idea regarding who is coming to their event, using what mode, via which route. Yet, only during the event they’ll find out whether their hypothesis regarding the crowd’s composition, the modal split, the program’s attractive elements, the crowds’ behaviour and weather are correct.

The earlier crowd professionals can confirm (or refute) their assumptions on the event visitors’ movements and choices, the earlier they can take effective action. The City Analytics platform provides professionals with the mobility trends in their region, as well as in-depth analytics on the crowd’s dynamics. Crowding, queues on highways, delayed trains, blocked roads, full parking lots, bad weather; none of this is going to be a surprise anymore with the City Analytics platform.

Live insights into your event and surroundings

We set up a live feed of the most important open data sources pertaining the crowd (Twitter and Instagram), mobility (NDW, NDOV, parking, and bridge openings) and the weather (Buienradar). Besides that, we add the organisations own live data to the mix. Whether one has counting systems, ticket scanners, RFID-bracelets or smart camera’s, we can easily connect to it. No management across 5 different platforms anymore, instead all crowd insights are together in one place.

Scenario-based working

Moreover, the City Analytics platform allows you to specify specialist scenarios and warnings. To identify whether visitor flows get close to capacity, set a warning for a specific flow rate or crowd density. Similarly, to determine whether trains are delayed during the outflow of an event, set a warning for any delayed train scheduled to stop at the station nearest to the event. This way, surprises are something of the past.
